A portrait of Nikolay Haytov — Bulgarian writer, publicist and one of the most distinctive voices in 20th-century Bulgarian literature.
He is especially known for „Диви разкази“, a collection that captures the strength, contradictions and raw character of people living close to nature and tradition.
Haytov also left a lasting mark on Bulgarian cinema and television. His work is connected to films such as „Козият рог“, „Мъжки времена“, „Краят на песента“, „Дърво без корен“ and „Орисия“, as well as the television series „Семейство Калинкови“ and „Капитан Петко войвода“.

WHY I DREW HIM
I drew Николай Хайтов because his writing carries a powerful sense of freedom, instinct and inner strength.

It is a sentence about courage — about the people who refuse to stay small when something inside them asks for more.
There is something wild, proud and deeply human in Haytov’s world, and that is exactly what I wanted this piece to carry.
I draw them so we don’t forget them.
